The Commodore 64 personal computer was a a revolutionary home computer system.
The reasons the commodore 64 because so successful were many. Firstly, it was cheap. For under $500 you could purchase a full powered home computer system, complete with floppy drive and software, all ready to be instantly plugged into your TV or optional commodore monitor.
Secondly, it had a LOT of games available for it, and the games were great quality. Software & game designers all jumped at the chance to come up with the latest hit for the Commodore 64, and this meant a wide variety of choice for C64 Fans. Copied games were common, as hackers worldwide would 'crack' games so they could easily be copied.
Last but not least, was that the system itself was great value for money. Nothing else came close to the sound & graphics capabilities of the Commodore 64, and to this day it's still highly sought after on eBay. Check out some of the current going prices for the C64 & Accessories on eBay below.
