PS3 Slim

Sony's PlayStation 3 Slim was released in September of 2009, and is basically a normal (fat) PS3 in a smaller case.

This new, slim line version has the same hardware as the Playstation 3, with a hard drive upgrade from 80GB to 120GB. Backwards compatibility is identical to the Playstation 3, it cannot play Playstation 2 Games but the PS3 Slim will play the older Playstation 1 Games without a hitch.

So why would you buy the Slim Version of the PS3? Basically, because it looks nicer. It'll still play Blu-ray DVD's, but the unit will most likely fit and look better in your Hi-Fi / Home Video Setup. It'll play all PS3 Games, and features the same controllers, so you can move over from the PS3 without a worry.
