So you want to learn more about the Xbox 360 Elite, but you're sick of wading through reviews that take 8 pages to reach their conclusion.  Well, look no further!  This "pocket" review of the Xbox 360 will run as quickly and smoothly as the Elite's graphics - but we're getting ahead of ourselves.  If you're a fan of the Xbox series and can't wait to upgrade over your classic Xbox 360, we've got good news for you:  the Elite is the real deal.

The quibbles with the Xbox 360 Elite are minor, as you can see in this CNet review.  There are some changes that could have been made, such as expanding the amount of USB ports allowed, but ultimately this doesn't detract from the overall experience of gaming on the Elite.  Yes, you'll still see some familiar Xbox traits, like that huge cooling fan, but if you've enjoyed previous Xbox's, you probably won't mind.

And that's the bad news!  The good news is that the Xbox 360 Elite is a definite upgrade over the 360 console, running more smoothly, efficiently, and boasting the same high-quality selection of games.  In PCWorld's Xbox 360 Elite review, you'll find that the hard drive has expanded from 20 GB to 120 GB, a major upgrade to be sure.  For ultimate gamers who found the previous limited hard drive to be constricting, this may be worth the price tag alone.

You'll even notice that the Xbox 360 Elite makes room for HD DVD's, running them smoothly and effectively, making you wonder why anyone would ever own a DVD player when they can simply buy a game console.

If you already have a problem with the Xbox 360, there's nothing to suggest you won't have a problem with the Elite.  Not everything is fixed in the Elite, which runs like an enhanced version of the 360.  But isn't exactly what the title suggests?

All in all, knowing why the Xbox 360 Elite works so well is understanding the entire Xbox series.  It's a pure game console that doesn't try to expand beyond its basic abilities; instead, it works on those specifications and optimizes them well.  Whether you're watching the video graphics of NCAA '10 or enjoying Season 3 of The Office on DVD, you'll be glad you went ahead and made the leap to the next level of Xbox 360 Elite.  Watch for falling prices and you'll be able to enjoy the same quality experience for a more affordable price.
